It’s always great to reminisce and we love to skip merrily down memory lane whenever we are asked to explain where our name came from and ‘what the heck have you done with that poor prawn?!’
So are you sitting comfortably? There was no scouring through name books back then, we had made our choice way back and just like the conception, was aided by several strong drinks from Belgium. There were no regrets the morning after, just excited and nervous planning for the imminent birth. We didn’t just want to come up with a name that was quirky, it had to mean something and be a reflection of what we would stand for. But why a blue prawn? Basically we aim to challenge the norm and try to cooo people into thinking differently.
It’s good to question things, to think outside the box. Take a prawn for example, there are millions of the little buggers, none are identical but all are pretty much the same. Nothing spectacular. But then you come to market with one that looks completely different but because of it–really fresh and much more appealing. People sit up and take notice and soon start swarming to you wanting to know what you are selling. Yeah the others are still doing OK but now there’s something different on people’s lips. Change can be a good thing. |
